Veterinary Technician
Hello! My name is Lynae Laley and I have been a part of the Conley and Koontz Equine Hospital team for the past 5 months as a Registered Veterinary Technician! Part of my job is doing lab work, X-rays, assisting with ultrasounds, treatments, holding the horses so the doctors stay safe, and last but not least lot's of learning! Also, a fun fact about me is I used to race derby cars!
Personal Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy going to the zoo with my son and my husband in my free time! As well as playing any sports, putting puzzles together, and fires at night! I love being on the Women's board at my church and playing sand volleyball! I also enjoy spending time with my 2 dogs (Wednesday and Pugsley,) as well as my cat, Sable!
Favorite Part of My Job
My favorite part of my job is being hands on with the patients and seeing new places! I also really enjoy helping the horses get back to being healthy again!
Why I Chose This Profession
I chose this profession because I have a strong love for animals and I want to help them feel better as well as the owners!
Education
I attended the International Business College - Vet Tech Institute for 18 months! I received my associate degree in RVT, CFVP, FFCP - Elite (dogs, cats, horses!)
Work History
I worked at St. Joe Center Veterinary Hospital for 6 years! There I helped with appointments, ran lab work, did X-rays, monitored anesthesia, assisted in surgery, performed dental cleanings & X-rays, and helped with client education!
I also worked at New Haven Veterinary Hospital for 2 years, and assisted with all the same things and more!
