Conley and Koontz Equine Hospital is a premier medical and surgical facility for the treatment of horses in Northeast Indiana. Our hospital provides surgical, diagnostic, and treatment options formerly unavailable in Fort Wayne and surrounding areas. For emergencies such as severe colic, traumatic injury, and foaling difficulties it is essential to have rapid access to veterinary treatment. These benefits are available to new and existing clients of our practice as well as referrals from various veterinarians in the area.
Dr. Koontz recognised that northeastern Indiana needed advanced options for surgical, medical, and diagnostic options for the horses. None of the individual practices in our area were large enough nor had the case load to support such an ambitious venture. So Dr. Koontz and Dr. Conley combined their individual practices to form Conley and Koontz Equine Hospital. Dr. Rothenbuhler, a board certified surgeon, was hired to help design the hospital and be head of surgery. January 2010 Conley and Koontz Equine Hospital opened our doors and have been providing advanced surgery, medicine, and diagnostics to our patients since.
In 2018 Dr. Gran, a board certified internist, started working with Conley and Koontz Equine Hospital. This made us the only private equine practice in Indiana with either a board certified surgeon or a board certified internist on staff. Conley and Koontz Equine Hospital has both.
Ambulatory equine veterinarians Dr. Conley, Dr. Koontz, Dr. Rothenbuhler, Dr. Gran, Dr. Bollman, and Dr. Stohlman continue to travel to farms in Allen, Whitley, Noble, Dekalb, Huntington, Wells, Kosciusko and more. Many maintenance, emergency and medical treatments are most efficiently administered by travelling to the equine patient.
