Our Performance Horse Shoeing Program maximizes comfort and enhances performance
Over the years we have been able to consistently improve athletic performance and decrease incidence of lameness in all breeds and disciplines with our performance horse shoeing program. Some conditions that can be avoided using performance horseshoeing include; bowed tendons, dropped fetlocks, fractured sesamoid bones, navicular syndrome, injured flexor tendons, injured suspensory ligament, road founder, and traumatic fractures. A comfortable horse can perform to the best of their ability.
The first step is the diagnostic assessment. We perform a lameness examination, take measurements of the hooves, and perform high quality digital radiographs for a clear evaluation of each patients individual situation.
You don't know what is inside your horse's hoof until you look!
The digital radiograph program provides a view of the structures inside the hoof capsule. Your CKE veterinarian will assess these structures and write a shoeing prescription customized to your horse.
We work in partnership with your blacksmith to implement the shoeing prescription. The radiographs and the prescription instructions can be emailed to your blacksmith, or you can work with our blacksmith here at the hospital.
